Cosmology

Newtonian cosmology is problematic, as Seeliger’s paradox shows. We summarize Norton’s review on the topic, including Einstein’s forgotten ideas of the divergence of the metric at infinity, its relationship with Mach’s principle and MOND, and Norton’s preferred solution of the relativity of acceleration.
